March 7:
The suspect believed to be behind two Posey County bank robberies had his first day in court. 54 year old John Turchiano was arrested Thursday night. Police say he is responsible for the robberies at the Wadesville Fifth-Third bank on February 11th and March 4th. In court Friday, Turchiano was appointed a public attorney. He does have a prior criminal record so Posey County Prosecutor Jodi Uebelhack asked the judge to wave extradition so he will have to face the robbery charges first. Turchiano faces misdemeanor charges in those other states. The prosecutor also told us that he got away with a total of $7300 in the robberies. His next court appearance will be March 17th.
