US & World Summary --- Democratic Leaders Debate Florida Do-Over Primary (Washington, DC) -- With the Democratic Presidential race coming down to the wire, legislators are looking for ways to have Michigan and Florida to have a say in the outcome. Florida Senator Bill Nelson is suggesting a mail-in do-over primary. Nelson says he is doing all he can to help avoid a "train wreck" in his state. DNC chairman Howard Dean told CBS "Face the Nation" that the rules must be the same for all states. The two states were stripped of their Democratic delegates by the national party when they each moved up their original primary dates. --- Poll: Obama Leads Clinton Ahead Of Mississippi Primary Barack Obama appears to be on track to add another southern state to his collection. The Illinois senator has a 14 percentage point lead over Democratic rival Hillary Clinton a day before voters in Mississippi make their choice. Thirty-three delegates are at stake in this contest. Race is expected to be the biggest factor in this contest according to the latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of more than 800 Democratic voters in Mississippi. The poll shows Obama with an overwhelming 80 percent to 12 percent advantage over Clinton among black voters. --- Man Wearing Gaudy Wig Gunned Down In Shootout With Police A gunman sporting a wild-looking wig was shot dead by police in Mission Viejo, California after having robbed a mall jewelry store. No one besides the gunman was injured in the incident. --- Hundreds Attend Services For Slain Students (Athens, GA) -- Services were held yesterday for the University of North Carolina student body president gunned down near her residence in Chapel Hill last Wednesday. Also yesterday, funeral services were held in Marieta, Georgia for slain Auburn University student Lauren Burk, found shot to death after being abducted last Tuesday. The "Atlanta Journal Constitution" reports Police in Phenex City, Alabama have arrested and hit 23-year-old Courtney Larrell Lockhart with capital murder and other charges in connection with the murder. --- Boy Critical After Sandbox Accident (Everett, WA) -- A ten-year old boy is in critical condition after his playmates decided to bury him headfirst in a sandbox. The friends had been playing in the backyard. --- Train Attacked With Furniture (Arvada, CO) -- A Colorado man is behind bars after he allegedly tossed a chair at an Amtrak passenger train yesterday. Police in Arvada, Colorado were called after hearing someone was firing a gun, but despite an intense search they never found one. Department spokeswoman Susan Medina says they arrested Alan Cardenas for carrying an unspecified "dangerous weapon." --- HBO Rep Denies Plans For "Sopranos" Movie Reports of a movie version of the hit HBO series "The Sopranos" appear to have hit some sour notes. E! Online says the HBO rep said no one should expect to see the ensemble on the big screen any time soon. The rumors were spurred by the owner of a New Jersey strip club which provided the backdrop for the fictional Bada Bing club that was featured in the HBO mob serial.
