Bomb Threat At Henderson County High School

With the recent Reitz High School scare, tri-state parents are on alert. So, when a bomb threat was called in at Henderson County High this morning, parents were quick to pick up their kids despite school officials advising otherwise. The bomb threat was called in just after eight this morning. Henderson County High students hadnt been in class long when a threatening phone call was made to the school "An adult male called and his only message was there was a bomb in the school then hung up" School officials immediately evacuated students into the parking lot, but because of the rain, they were put on buses and sent to various locations. "Weve taken six bus loads to East Heights and the remaining to North Middle School." As soon as students arrived at the middle school, so did parents, as you can see the lines are long of parents wanting to get their kids and go home. "You have to be a mother or father with a valid ID." "I got in my car and came looking for my grandson, its very scary." Pamela Scisney arrived early enough to get her grandson, soon after school officials were only letting parents check kids out. "You have to be a parent with a proper ID, the parent, if the child is signed out of school its an unexcused absence." Once Henderson emergency services checked the building and deemed it safe, the school re-opened its doors. "You do not have to sign them out, Id advise you not to sign them out." After hearing that news, some parents decided to leave their kids in class. "Im going to leave her in there because its zeros in class all day, they get zeros all day if they go home." Parent Angela Comer made the same decision, but like Johnson wanted to check in and make sure her son was out of danger. "The truth is it could happen anywhere, didnt happen when I was in school, or when my parents were in school, but its annoying and its scary." "You dont expect something like this to happen in Henderson, but its coming home to us." No explosives were found in the school and by late morning the kids that stayed were back in class. Police are investigating the threat, a threat that is now considered a felony. The last bomb threat made to a Henderson county school was two years ago at South Middle.
