Mastodon For Sale (Sebastopol, CA) -- If youve been looking for a grand statue for your back yard, there is a family in Sebastopol, California that has just the thing for you. The Fiddler family has the fossilized skeleton of an adult mastodon, one of the finest examples in North America, just sitting in their garage. The "San Francisco Chronicle" reports the mastodon was unearthed on the familys Modoc County alfalfa farm in 1997 and after eleven years, theyre finally ready to say goodbye to it. Though the skeleton is missing tusks, it is said to be worth 800-thousand-dollars. The mastodon is listed it on eBay with a starting bid of 115-thousand-dollars.
