Garvin Park in Evansville is the site of one of many Fourth of July picnics around the Tri-state. The Independence Day Family Picnic is full of all the traditions celebrated on America's birthday. Many residents gave speeches and everyone honored our flag. There were also songs and of course good food. The picnic is put on by the Tri-state Tea Party Organization, but the group says today is a day of celebration regardless of your political preference. Hot dogs, burgers and pulled pork were just a few mouth-watering items on the menu. Later on in the day local politicians gave speeches thanking those in the armed forces and saying how proud they are to be American.
