A majority of Hoosiers want to keep township government.
That is the result of a poll commissioned by the Indiana Township Association.
According to numbers released, 68% of voters in Indiana oppose eliminating township government.
The survey also shows a number of voters support keeping townships as the primary form of government for conducting property tax assessments.
There are several bills pending in the legislature to reduce or eliminate township government, but so far none of them have made it to the governors desk.
