Clean Fuel Grant Announced For Evansville

The money will go towards making the fleet of buses more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly.
the buses will be updated so they use less fuel, give off less emissions and even make them quieter.
Indiana 8th District Congressman, Larry Bucshon and Mayor Lloyd Winnecke presented the 175-thousand dollar grant to METS Monday morning. The money will be used to convert the buses engine cooling system to a new mini hybrid system.
The new system is expected to reduce gas emissions by 10-percent. The system will be installed on 11 mets buses.
