The Evansville Labor Temple will soon have a new owner. The Central Labor Council of Southern Indiana has called the temple on Fulton home since the 1930's, but that will soon change.

The council put the building up for sale last year after it decided it wanted a smaller more user-friendly building. They are hoping for a single-story structure or one with an elevator. The council met yesterday and voted to accept an offer to purchase the property.

The council will not say who buyer is or how much they will pay, but members of the council say its a fair price. Joe Kiefer of Hahn Realty Corporation is handling the deal. The Labor Council now plans to move to a temporary location, while it considers building a new facility.
