The city of Owensboro may soon be operating with fewer employees.
City Manager Bill Parrish presented a plan this week that calls for major changes and a cut in city personnel.
Parrish says his plan is designed to operate the city more efficiently and that because of new technology, not as many people are needed as in years past.
About 20 positions would be phased out with the plan that Parrish believes could save the city up to $1.5 million.
Parrish challenges all of the citys managers to let him know if they believe they have a better plan.
