Popcorn lovers: Listen up. There's a new link between microwave popcorn and alzheimer's.
The University of Minnesota ran some tests after a number of food factory workers came down with the disease.
The tests discovered the ingredient known as Diacetyl, the compound that gives microwave popcorn that buttery flavor and aroma, could be to blame.
Diacetyl isn't just found in popcorn.
It's also found in margarine, candy, pet foods and other products like beer.
