Thousands of Hoosiers May Lose Health Coverage

By: Chris Veech
Updated: August 17, 2012

The state of Indiana learns it may be forced to close enrollment for the 42,000-plus people in the Healthy Indiana Plan beginning next year. This comes after the Federal Health and Human Services Department approved a one-year extension for the HIP program but failed to approve the multi-year extension the state asked for. State leaders say it's likely the plan won't last after the extension ends in december of 2013.
