Hillary Clinton is coming to Evansville. The candidates campaign made it official yesterday. Clinton will hold a rally Thursday night at Harrison High School on the city’s east side. Its her third Hoosier state stop on Thursday. Clinton will start the day in Terre Haute with Senator Evan Bayh. Shell make two appearances there, then come down to Evansville. This is the first visit to the Hoosier state for Clinton.
Barack Obama was in Indianapolis Saturday.
The Vanderburgh County Democratic Party says theyre very excited Clinton is coming to our city before the May 6th primary. They say Evansville will be a great town for each candidate to campaign in. Mark Owen of the party says one of the reasons that theyll look at Evansville is a large number of people in southern Indiana are Democrat, plus Evansville is a media market that covers portions of three states.
Clinton will be at Harrison High School at 7:00 p.m. The doors open at 5:45 p.m. and it is open to the public. Mark Owen with the Democratic Party says the last time a presidential hopeful made a stop in Evansville was in 1980. But, the last time our votes counted in a primary was 1960, so this first visit by Clinton is something pretty historic for our area.
