The candidate for Indiana Lieutenant Governor Vi Simpson made a stop in Evansville today to unveil her plan to strengthen the state's infrastructure. Simpson along with her running mate, John Gregg, have a plan that would potentially give the state access to $3.5 billion to spend on infrastructure.
The plan would make changes to the state budget along with using reserves from a state trust fund. State Senator Simpson says the plan would also create nearly 100,000 jobs, but she says the benefits extend far beyond the economy. The plan would give local communities the option of taking out loans to improve roads, brdiges, and ports throughout the state.
