Joe Donnelly stopped at the Columbia Healthcare facility in Evansville Thursday, talking to seniors about health care and Medicare Laws, as well as what he'll do for the aging population if elected to office.

Ronnie Sanders says he's hoping Donnelly can help change Medicare laws so he can get a new wheelchair.

"If we're in a facility such as Columbia, we are not allowed to purchase a wheelchair through Medicaid and Medicare under some rule that the facility is to provide you with a wheelchair," Sanders said.

"They have given so much to our country, and worked so hard," said Donnelly. "And I wanted to stop by, say hello and share some stories with them, and have a chance to talk about Medicare and Social Security. I want to let them know their Medicare is sound. Their Social Security is sound. And we're going to work hard for generations to make sure it stays that way."

Donnelly says if elected to office, he'll work hard to work across the aisle with Democrats and Republicans on issues for seniors.
