Henderson County DUI Convictions on an Upswing

By: Chris Veech
Updated: October 4, 2012

Henderson County prosecutors continue the fight against people who drive under the influence. The Kentucky Transportation Data Center says between 2009 and 2011, Henderson County ranked 5th in the state for DUI convictions. That's a 91.7 percent conviction rate. In 2011, just more than 400 people were arrested for impaired driving, with all but 25 cases being convicted. That gave Henderson a 93.8 conviction rate for last year, making it 7th in the state. Prosecutors say the data suggests there is an upswing in the number of drivers who are impaired by drugs, both illicit and prescription.
