Nut Club Increases Number of Booths with New Cafe Court

With more than 100 food booths at the Fall Festival, competition is fierce. It's elevated this year with the addition of 10 new booths in a parking lot right off Franklin St. The Nut Club calls it the Cafe Court, and it's at the corner of Franklin and 11th. Some of the booths at the Cafe Court include Joshua Academy and Holly's House.
The Nut Club purchased the property from a local bank, so they could increase the number of spaces available to non-profits to open food booths. This also serves another purpose. It makes a dent in the huge waiting list of people wanting to open food booths
"Typically, the food booths on the street level don't open up very often," said Street Chairman Doug DeMoss. "In fact, we have some booths that have been here since we started. It's rare for somebody to leave because all the booths do well this week."
DeMoss says some of the most popular booths can rake in about $40,000. Most booths make at least $10,000.
