Preparations Underway For Vice Presidential Debate

By: Michael C. Fehn
Updated: October 10, 2012
Politicians aren't the only ones looking for a debate-related boost when Joe Biden and Paul Ryan go toe-to-toe in Kentucky Thursday.

Those in Danville, near Lexington, also hope to benefit from the debate.

Streets have been repaved, flowers planted and new signs put up around the town of 16-thousand.

The Centre College's auditorium is being filled with all kinds of equipment.  One bar even made new cocktails named for Ryan and Biden, while stores have stocked up on politically-themed merchandise.

The town also hosted a Vice Presidential Debate in 2000, between Dick Cheney and Joe Lieberman.

Eyewitness News will have a crew in Danville for Thursday's debate.
