Accuride Announces Cutbacks Due to Economic Struggles

By: Chris Veech
Updated: October 10, 2012

An Evansville company plans to reduce its national workforce. Accuride says it will reduce its overall workforce by 14 percent, and it will accelerate the timeline to close its facility in Elkhart. The company has not said where additional reductions may occur. It blames the cutbacks on a soft market in the commercial trucking industry. Accuride manufactures components and parts for larger trucks.
