Police Searching for Suspect in Evansville Stabbing

Evansville police are looking for the man responsible for an overnight stabbing. It happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Ravenswood. Police say Matthew Stevens saw someone trying to steal his neighbor's car. When Stevens approached the would-be thief, the robber stabbed him in the chest. Stevens hit the man in the head with a brick. The robber ran away. Police describe Stevens's stab wound as "minor."
