A sea of blue and white crowded the doors of the Ford Center. Face paint, blue hair and hats that look like hockey pucks can only mean one thing, its hockey season.
Fan Brian Reising says, "We're gonna cheer, and ring our cowbells."
Fellow Icemen fan Sabrina Rhodes says, "There's nothing better than an Icemen game. The environment is great and you can party all night," she says. "You'll have a good time with the crowd and see all of the fun. You'll be a fan by the time you leave,"
It's not quite Halloween, but the costumes and wigs are making an early appearance for the Icemen home opener. Lemon says, "I decided to do something a little different so I got this kilt. It's in the color of the Icemen team." Brian Reising says, "I'm wearing this hat to bring team spirit to Evansville"
Icemen owner Ron Geary is almost as excited as the fans stating, "It's so refreshing to have so many people and to know our fans love us so much. We started out at Swonder, we're a homegrown team, and its really just exceeded my expectations."
These folks are hoping this game is the start of another winning season for the Icemen. Geary expected a sell-out crowd at the game. That's number makes a grand total of 9,400 fans in the seats.
