October is the beginning of a three-month period where you'll see more deer on roadways around the state.
The Department of Fish and Wildlife says that's because it's mating season for white-tailed deer, so the animals are more likely to cross roads.
The Kentucky Farm Bureau says almost half of all collisions with deer happen in October, November, and December.
