Owensboro High School is honoring some of their own today. This morning the high school honored six distinguished alumni into the "OHS Hall of Achievement" during a special ceremony. The honorees are selected based on their work after high school and what they've done to contribute to the community.

This year's inductees include James Phillip Fentress, Reverend Lamont Jones, Jr., Franklin Joseph Neubauer, Bruce Phillip Sayre, Sister Sharon Sullivan, and Tommy Thompson.

"For our students to see what they can actually accomplish," said Owensboro High School Principal Anita Burnette, "if they work hard and work their craft or have the passion to give back to their community."

"To be honored is partially a way to help you acknowledge how we formed you to make a difference in the community," said Sister Sharon Sullivan.

The school had about 80 applicants for the alumni induction.
