The American Red Cross is hoping the Tri-State will step up to help local veterans. Totes for Hope Campaign is kicking off it's fourth year this week and asking the Tri-State to pitch in. The program is looks to provide local homeless and low income veterans with personal care items and other necessities such as phone or gift cards, bus tokens, oral care items, magazines, and puzzle books just to name a few.

"It really is a joint community effort into getting all of these totes stuffed and available for the local veterans," said Julie Krizen of the American Red Cross. "In Vanderburgh County alone, more than 400 veterans are homeless, and thats just a heartbreaking number. So, this program really aims to give back to the veterans that gave so much to us."

Donations will be accepted through November 5 at the American Red Cross in Evansville. Monetary donations will also be accepted and can be made online at www.tristateredcross.org
