Need a perfect place to enjoy a safe, family Halloween? Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Gardnes may be the perfect spot. The park is hosting its annual "Boo at the Zoo".

The spooky festival kicked off this evening and will run through Sunday, and start up again Friday, October 26, through Sunday, October 28. Events for the kids include trick or treating, games, craft activities, and a magic show. Also, new this year is a scarecrow decorating contest.

"There are so many fun things to do at "Boo at the Zoo," said Mesker Park Zoo Marketing Director Charlotte Roesner, "I know everyone enjoys walking away with a bag full of treats. The magic show is always a favorite. And I think just the fun, family atmosphere the event provides will be something the whole family can enjoy."

The zoo's gates close everyday at 2 p.m. and then reopen for "Boo at the Zoo" from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $6 for zoo members and $8 for non-zoo members.
