He was wounded while serving in Iraq, and tonight he's sharing his story with people in western Kentucky. Gordon Ewell's vehicle was hit by an IED, while in Iraq in 2007. One of the explosions was so powerful, it blew his impacted wisdom teeth out the side of his jaw.

He came home to recover, and since then, he's written two books and is working on a third. He's also going around the country spreading his word of survival. And tonight, he's speaking about the Wounded Warrior Program, aproject that helps wounded military members get back on their feet when they get home.

"That's why we want him here," said friend Mary Edwards, "to bring it to Owensboro and bring it to light to our individuals here so we can help them."

"And I hope he can shed some light to our community," said friend Lesley Scott, "about the Wounded Warrior Project."

Ewell will be at the American Legion Post 9 in Owensboro until 10 p.m. tonight. The public is invited to attend his program.
