EVSC Beginning New Lunch Experiment

By: Michael C. Fehn
Updated: October 23, 2012
The EVSC is beginning a new campaign to expose students to new foods.

Children at Hebron and Harper Elementary Schools will get to try some Jicama (hee-kah-ma) at lunch today.

It's a bulbous root vegetable that is usually peeled before it's cooked.  They are usually one to two pounds.

The event is part of National School Lunch Week.

Comments

This new menu yes may be healthier, but my kid wants to take lunch every day due to the differnt foods,so he does not go hungrey all day, I see both sides but the kids who doesn't have the choice of taking a lunch from home or depends on school lunch for their only meal they may get goes hungery due to disliking the choices now.
