Former Governor, Edgar Whitcomb, sold his one hundred 44-acre plot to be preserved as part of the Hoosier National Forest. The Department of Natural resources will manage it.
The former governor says he wants to be able to share this with the people of Indiana. The DNR will rent out three cabins on the property to tourists.
It's not clear when the state will officially take ownership.
