Vikings Looking to Cement Their Legacy

The North Posey Vikings coming into the second round of sectional play with a record of 10-0 for the first time since 1996.  Its a great team for long time head coach Joe Gengelbach, but is it his best? Senior stars Wes Harness and Alec Werry want to make sure it is.
Its been a season of dominance for the North Posey Vikings in 2012.  They have trailed only once in the fourth quarter, coming back to defeat Heritage Hills in Week 5.
"You've got to be prepared," says RB Harness.  "Everybody's going to come out and try to knock you down.  You've got to be prepared for it every game, every second, every down."
Coach Joe Gengelbach says the Vikings' success begins and ends with an experienced backfield, beginning with Harness.
"He's gotten better every year," says the coach, who's in his 44th season.  "But he's gotten better because of a lot of hard work.  I think one of the most impressive things he does is how he compliments what other players can do around him.  I think its made us a much closer ball club."
Harness has had a monster year, averaging seven yards a carry.  Fellow senior Alec Werry want their legendary coach to look back at this team with only one memory.
"One of his best ever," says Werry.  "A team that doesn't give up like when we came back in the fourth quarter."
The Vikings can take another step toward that goal with a win over Mater Dei in round two.  That's our Game of the Week.  You can catch every snap on Local 7, starting at 7:00pm.
