By: Michael C. Fehn
Updated: October 24, 2012
A water main break has shut down a section of Red Bank Road in Vanderburgh, and prompted a boil advisory for some west side residents.

The advisory affects the following areas:
  • West Haven Subdivision west of N. Red Bank Rd.
  • Meadow Lark Ln.
  • Magnolia Dr.
  • W. Haven Dr.
  • Carmen Dr.
  • N. Red Bank Rd. from 2021 to 2807
  • Barbara Jane Ln. from N. Red Bank Rd. west to the dead-end
  • Melody Ln. from N. Red Bank Rd. west to the dead-end

The area between Upper Mount Vernon Road and New Harmony Road was blocked off around  four Wednesday morning, following the break.

Dispatchers say drivers should avoid the area until the break is repaired.
