With just days until the Election, the "Yes for Unification" group makes it's final push in Evansville. The pro-consolidation group brought in two University of Louisville researchers who studied Louisville both before and after consolidation.

The experts in urban development authored a 2011 study, which found the merger improved the city's finances. And they say voters can expect the same results in Evansville and Vanderburgh County. Linda Bailey says Louisville's small-business scene has a new found vitality.

"I believe consolidation," said Bailey, "is contributing to those things happening and notice a city becoming more robust."

The two say their study was the most comprehensive analysis of the effects of consolidation. They tout Louisville's Triple-A bond rating as a key indicator of the city's success after consolidation.
