Traffic on Highway 41, between St. George and Diamond Avenue is moving again following a Tuesday morning train derailment.

The cars came off the track near Highway 41 and Harlan, hitting a utility pole, which Vectren officials say houses a main line feeding power to Evansville's north side. Crews spent much of Tuesday afternoon removing the broken utilty pole.

Officers responding to the derailment say they could hear the poll creaking, and that's when the decision was made to close the area to traffic.  That pole has been stabilized. The Vanderburgh County Jail's did lose power momentarily before the backup power generators kicked in.

The investigation into what caused the derailment continues.
