PREVIOUS: A highway in northern Vanderburgh County is closed following a semi fire.
Crews were called to the scene on Highway 57, about a mile north of Boonville New Harmony Road just before 4 this morning.
According to investigators, the semi ran off the road and hit a tree. The cab of the truck and the tree both caught fire. The driver was able to make it out of the truck safely, and was transported to a nearby hospital.
Crews quickly got the fire under control. There's no word on when Highway 57 will be reopened. We will bring you the latest information as we receive it.
