Hoosiers buying big ticket items will see some sticker shock come Tuesday, when Indianas sales tax goes from six to seven percent. The hike was passed by the Indiana General Assembly in March to help offset property tax cuts that are slated for this year. Evansville auto retailers say some customers are buying now to keep from paying the extra one percent in tax. Many retailers, however, say their customers arent aware of the new, higher tax.
