Animal lovers are calling for justice after they learn an alleged thief stole from a group specializing in animal adoptions.  Another Chance for Animals is an Evansville based group that survives solely on donations, but at an adoption drive this weekend those proceeds were allegedly stolen.
Many of these animals will never have a loving family. Some brought in as strays, others given up by owners who can no longer care for them.  But Jackie Rohner, President of Another Chance for Animals, says she wants to make a difference.
ACA survives solely on donations, with bigger bills kept in a separate bag.  But on Sunday, the unthinkable happened.  The bag had been stolen with more than $500 in it.
Debbie Magenheimer works closely with ACA.  Rohner quickly notified police, but it was too late.  She says people have donated enough money to replace the stolen funds, but she'll always keep a mindful eye on the money in the future.
We're told PetsMart is equipped with security cameras, but Rohner says their position under a tent prevented authorities from seeing anything.  Evansville police say the case is still under investigation, if you have any information you're asked to call the EPD.
