The longtime radio personality conceded to Republican Incumbent, Larry Bucshon in Washington, Indiana.
Crooks blamed some of the loss on GOP superpacs pouring money into negative ads in the final months of the campaign. And he cited the difficulty of winning the bloody 8th as a Democrat, a district that's leaned right as of late.
Crooks says he has no regrets about the campaign, but he's looking forward to enjoying his job and his family.
"I'm not a career politician. I'm a radio broadcaster, I'm a small businessman that is just trying to run my business and do what's right for my family and my business. And it's pretty unlikely I'll be running for office again", Crooks said.
Crooks says he congratulated Bucshon on his win, and encouraged him to work towards a more bipartisan congress in his next term.
