The Old Post Office in downtown Evansville now has all the funding to continue renovations. The Redevelopment Commission approved the $2.5 million needed to renovate both the inside and outside of the building.

Repairs will be made to the roof, gutters walls, and interior of the building. Once complete, the city says there will a lot more bodies in and out of this historic landmark.

"You'll see more people working there," said Philip Hooper of the Department of Metropolitan Development. "You'll see more people going in and out for lunch and more people having meetings there because there will significant increase. The space will be fully occupied, and you'll see a lot more activity there. It'll be great. "

You may remember earlier this year the city awarded funding for the second and third floors to be renovated, which will house the Social Security Administration currently in the federal building. The Old Post Office will soon be almost 100 percent occupied by Spring 2013.
