An email from abroad and a search here at home uncovers a French connection to a Tri-State World War II veteran. It might make you think, you know, it just might be a small world after all.

We get e-mails into the station all the time. But one email we received Friday shows just how connected the world really is... even if we don't realize it.

It's a story about a Frenchman who wrote to find out more about an Evansville World War II veteran. He considers this soldier a hero even though they never met. And that's just the beginning.

This is the story of the search for Cpl. Walter Clare Holder.
