The Black Friday hype seems to get stronger every year.  And this year, some stores are opening earlier than Black Friday morning, earlier than midnight, now we're going to have, lets just say, a Black Thanksgiving.

Walmart and Sears will offer their holiday deals to shoppers at 8:00 on Thanksgiving night.  Walmart says there is a group of people that want to shop early and get to bed earlier.  For some shoppers, it means taking time away from family to snatch the season's top gifts.  Whether you're after the new iPad or this year's latest toy, some shoppers are determined to walk away with a deal.

"Well it just seems like Thanksgiving, a time when you should be thankful for what you have and what you've been given and what you've worked for, it just seems like that whole holiday is by-passed. It goes from Halloween straight into the Christmas season. There's no time for Thanksgiving," Crissy Hettenbach said.

Crissy Hettenbach is the owner of Hett's Graphics & Gifts on St. Joe Avenue.  She says she has no plans to open earlier and says there's no way to even compete with the big stores.

"It just seems like these big retail places, they just seem to get more greedy, and greedier every single year. It's like, let us have Thanksgiving off so all the employees and everybody can just enjoy being with their families and being thankful," Hettenbach said.

So do we call it Black Thursday or is it still Black Friday?  One thing is for sure, bargain hunters will have a different kind of Thanksgiving.

Kmart will also open on Thanksgiving day from 6 am-4 pm, then it will close and reopen at 8 pm.  h.h. gregg says it plans to announce its Black Friday hours next week.
