One Tri-State animal shelter is on it's way to getting a million dollar makeover, but first they need your help by clicking online. It's put on by the website Zootoo.com. It works like a MySpace page for your pets. The organizers of the website are offering a million dollar makeover for the shelter who gets the most support online. The Henderson Humane Society is number 15 on the list. These little guys at the Henderson Humane Society are in need of a good home, but they're not the only ones with needs. The people currently giving the puppies a temporary place to stay are in need of some money. "We really need some help some support," says Paula Hawkins. That's why they've entered an online contest for shelters across the country. The top prize is "a million dollar makeover." The money would get them a whole new facility. That could really help here during their rebuilding phase. Just a few years ago things were not so pleasant. It got so bad they were kicked out of the humane society. "Not enough funding for medicine. We need our repairs on kennels and we were down to no volunteers. It was bad." It's much better now. Adoptions are up and volunteers are here everyday. "We're going forward." They're even raising money to build a play area outside. It's something the dogs don't get a chance to do right now. So winning a million dollar makeover, "would really help a lot." If you want to help it's really simple and free. Hawkins says the two most important parts are making sure you verify your email address and the more activity you have on the site after you sign up gives the humane society a better rating. The voting ends march 3rd. The top 20 shelters will be in the running for a million dollars. The other 19 will get at least 5 thousand dollars. To log on Click Here.
