A new study found a proposed Interstate 67 would attract between 16 and 30 thousand vehicles a day, if the corridor is built without tolls. Higher traffic volumes are projected along the Kentucky section.
Daviess County Judge-Executive Al Mattingly says having an interstate through Owensboro would be a "tremendous boon." He says the corridor would mean more spending on gas, food and lodging, and would make the city more attractive to business.
The highway would be completed in 2035.
