The Tri-State Better Business Bureau marks' it's 100 year birthday with a very special guest. Steve Scheibner is an American Airlines Pilot who was scheduled to be on Flight 11, the first plane to hit the Twin Towers on 9/11, but he was bumped from that flight the day before. He now speaks throughout the country about elevating integrity in young people. And today, he told us about what it was like when he found out he missed taking that flight.
"When I saw the screen," said Scheibner, "and I got that visual representation of where I packed my bags to go onto a trip, I was just overwhelmed. My wife came into the room and she said 'Steve, what's going on?' I said 'Honey, you remember I packed my bags to go to LA yesterday?' She said 'Yeah.' And I said 'That was the first airplane to get hijacked.' And we just kind of held each other for a little bit. Even after all these years, there's not words to describe how you feel in that moment."
Scheibner also sold copies of his book: "In My Seat: A Pilot's Story from September 10th to 11th."
