Man Tries To Rob Mt. Vernon Store

A gas station employee is thankful things didn't end worse following an attempted armed robbery Saturday evening in Mount Vernon. Police tell us a masked man came in to the store on East 4th Street, pulled out a knife, and demanded money. When the clerk refused to give up the cash, the suspect left empty handed. Police continue to investigate.
