Horse trainers in Kentucky complain a new rule that allows veterinarians to administer anti-bleeder medication to horses on race day isn't working. Since the rule took effect on October 5, four mistakes have been made. The most recent incident happened last week at Churchill Downs. The horse, "Booby Prize", scratched after getting the meds from two different vets. The State Equine Medical Director is asking for patience as the new system is implemented and ironed out.
