ABC News is reporting a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel will be announced around 12:00p.m. Central Time on Tuesday.
The announcement comes a week after the assassination of Hamas' top military commander, which led to some of the worst violence between Gaza and Israel in nearly four years.
A Hamas spokesperson tells ABC, the announcement would be made at 8 p.m. in Cairo, where Egypt has been trying to broker a peace deal. The news also comes just hours before Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is expected to land in Israel for talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
We will have more information on this developing story as it becomes available.
