A Henderson County High school Organization says "thanks" to all of its turkeys. The Colonel Corner Bank is a small bank for students that operates within the high school. Each year, the bank sponsors a contest where students and teachers solicit money. The money is used for provide Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for less fortunate families in the Henderson area. This year students and staff took in more than $5,600.
"I think it feels really good," said Nikoli Williams of Colonel Corner Bank. "I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we love putting this fundraiser on, and we had a great time even though it's stressful throughout the week. But I think overall it was a great experience."
This is the 10th year the Colonel Bank has participated in its Turkey of the Year fundraiser.
