Machine Could Help Sick Patients Die

By: Web Producer
Updated: March 31, 2008
Machine Could Help Terminally Sick Patients Die Terminally ill patients might have a new option available to them -- to use a machine to die. The "London Times" says Germanys Roger Kusch is promoting a mercy-killing machine, called the "Perfusoer." The machine allows patients to push a button and inject themselves with potassium chloride and could bypass Germanys laws restricting assisted suicide. Kusch says the cross between a transformer and a paint spraygun gives the terminal person an option, but no one is forced to use it. Patients could rent the machine, insert needles themselves and press the button that releases the chemical used to kill people on Death Row in the United States.
