Man Compiles List Of Top 100 April Fools Hoaxes Of All Time
(San Diego, CA) -- April Fools Day is known as pseudo-holiday of pranks, but for one man its no joke.
Alex Boese has been researching April Fools Day ever since he was a graduate student.
He has even compiled a list of the Top 100 April Fools Day Hoaxes Of All Time for his website, "Museum of Hoaxes." Number One on the list is the Swiss Spaghetti Harvest of 1957.
The BBC news show "Panorama" announced that thanks to a very mild winter and the virtual elimination of the dreaded "spaghetti weevil," Swiss farmers were enjoying a bumper spaghetti crop.
The show even featured video of farmers pulling spaghetti from trees.
Many viewers called asking how they could grow their own spaghetti trees.
They were told to put a strand of spaghetti in a can of tomato sauce and hope for the best.
Boese says the best April Fools pranks are those that are believable at first glance.
You can reach Boeses web site at www.museumofhoaxes.com.
It covers the best April Fools pranks of the past 300 years, and thats no joke.
