Escaped Wabash County Inmate Recaptured

A Wabash County, Illinois, jail inmate is back behind bars after escaping. Jail officials say David Reed found a way to break a lock on his cell door and escape around 8:45 p.m. Monday. But the new found freedom didn't even last an hour. A Mt. Carmel officer spotted Reed and took him into custody. Reed was awaiting trial on a theft charge, but he now faces additional charges of escape, fleeing from an officer, and obstruction.
