A mere half-an-hour is all the freedom a western Kentucky inmate got during an escape Tuesday. The Kentucky State Police say Danny Benningfield was riding with other inmates from McLean County District Court back to the Daviess County Jail. He told the deputy jailer he was going to throw up so the jailer stopped and opened the door. That's when Benningfield made a run for it. A trooper and an Owensboro police officer found him 30 minutes later hiding in an empty hot tub behind a home. Benningfield now faces extra charges.
