Washington Avenue Reopens After Woman is Hit By SUV

Washington Avenue in Evansville has reopened after a woman was hit by an SUV Thursday evening.
Evansville Police say they woman had just gotten off a city bus when she tried crossing the street, and was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
Her injuries are reportedly serious enough that officers are reconstructing the scene.
Police say the driver of the SUV did not appear to be at fault, and that no charges are expected to be filed.
Washington Avenue was shut down for less than an hour as crews gathered information and cleaned up the scene.
